people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones
|
I think it would be more accurate if this was changed to;
'people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones within 50 yards of said house for fear of breaking a window'
to forbid someone from throwing a stone completely because they like in a house made of glass seems like an excessive restriction of freedom which we should not tolerate.

Rubbish. I could stand 1 yard away from a glass house and never break a window, you just throw the other way.
What would be accurate is you shouldn't throw stones from inside the home.
If you want to come up with this bollcks, make it funny, but as a minimum accurate.

The implication of the original saying is that you are living inside the 'house' The house is more about your mindset than an actual dwelling.

I think the house is more about a house made of glass than a mindset, you idiot.

It should be changed to 'people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones unless they are immigrants and unfamiliar with our culture in which case it is for the owner of the house with the broken window to celebrate the effects of this new diversity'.

People who live in houses with breakable fittings or fixtures shouldn't do things which might break these fittings or fixtures.
Unless they want to break them.
Or don't care.
